Being in the technical support industry, you get a lot of phone calls from people. People who are having problems with all aspects of their devices, machines and anything and everything connected to them. When a problem is solved, they are beyond happy. And the techs who help them are such unique personality and talents.
Some of these calls are really interesting and deserve to be brought to life. I had an idea to do just that — take the audio from those calls and animate them to create a visual experience that celebrates the people who help others get back on track.
The finished product is a series of 4 videos, each highlighting a specific technical problem. The techs in each one follow different paths to reach the solution, and show-off their technical prowess and amazing interpersonal skills.
After getting the transcriptions, I storyboarded them out. All artwork and direction was provided by me. Due to a lack of video skills on my part at the time (I've since learned AE & Premiere), the animation was done by an in-house video team. I think they did a wonderful job, BTW.
People internally loved them, but we never found a place for them outside the company. They're not really customer facing, since we are a white label company. Regardless, I felt like they are an interesting approach to storytelling and promoting what we do.
