Visual Design. Interaction Design. User Experience.

I've worked in agencies, consultancies and in-house design teams. And in that time I've been fortunate to have experience on so many different kinds of projects and clients over those years.

Check out my portfolio below!

Digital & Analog

Minisites, 1-pagers, app design, social content, explainers, video editing, motion graphics & interactive pieces. All of them are 100% responsive since 2013. I am responsible for all of the design and in some cases all of the development.

Where I've Worked

Viz.ai

Creative Manager / 2021 - Present

Viz is a SaaS startup, with a mission to bring life saving treatments to more people and make healthcare more accessible. We do this by using AI to identify diseases and conditions in CT and MRI scans and immediately inform doctors and clinicians that can respond quickly and save lives. The technology works and the people behind it are nothing short of amazing. I lead the Marketing design team and have enjoyed building the brand and helping this important work! 🧠

Freelance Contractor

CD & Designer / Home Sweet Home / 2020

While searching for a fulltime position, I worked on projects as a contractor. I enjoyed working on web design, illustration, motion graphics, video editing, prototyping and all kinds of other design challenges. It was a blast and I loved helping my clients do great work. Then I finally found that fulltime spot where I could really plant roots and make magic. ✨

Asurion

Sr. Manager Design/UX (Creative Solutions Team) / Bridgewater, NJ / 2013 – 2020

Insurance and Support Company. Moving from agency to in-house team was a big leap for me. I’ve been able to introduce concepts of UX best practices into project flow and bring a new perspective to their current approaches. I’ve been fortunate to lead a small team of designers and developers to create best-in-class consumer experiences for some of the biggest names in retail and mobility.

Group DCA

Interaction Design Lead / Parsippany, NJ / 2011 – 2013

Pharmaceutical Advertising Agency. This is where I applied what I had learned after all those years in a consultancy. As the company was moving from Flash to HTML5-based projects, it was critical to establish the processes needed to envision and execute efficiently. I was the resident evangelist for this change, mentoring junior designers and frontend developers as we tackled mobile, desktop and app experiences.

Logical Design Solutions

Sr. Consultant, Visual Design / Florham Park, NJ / 2002 – 2011

Management Consultancy. This was my opportunity to get experience with large scale, complex web portals. I got exposure to projects with lots of backend functionality. Most importantly I learned so much about process, planning and setting things up for a successful engagement. Those principles apply to sites and apps from 1-pagers to 1,000 pages.

Mezzina/Brown & Partners

Sr. Art Director / New York, NY / 1991 – 2002

Full Service Advertising Agency. My first job in the ad biz. I got to work on in-store promotions, catalogs, merchandise design, out-of-home... all things print. Got my break in digital half way through my stint here, working on lots of interactive Director Shockwave and Flash animations. Mezzina/Brown was a great place to cut your teeth. I had a blast and learned a ton.

My Education

card_sva

School of Visual Arts

BFA / New York, NY / 1991

I entered SVA as a cartoon major, but in a moment of clarity after my freshman year I switched to advertising. I loved the idea of marrying design and communication with a little salesmanship thrown in. And while I was classically trained (no computers back then... just marker comps, sketching, painting, sculpture), I quickly embraced technology in my first job and haven’t looked back.
